We know there's a lot of information here, but we want you to be fully informed about your rights and how Ecotribo Ltd uses your data.

For example, we will explain our fraud prevention procedure and how we combine data across Ecotribo Ltd to build a picture of how we can best serve you.

2. What is Ecotribo LTD
 

'Ecotribo Ltd' is a UK-registered limited company trading as 'Ecotribo.’'

This Privacy Notice applies to all orders, but there are additional terms for some countries. You’ll find more information below. For simplicity throughout this notice, ‘we’ and ‘us’ means Ecotribo Ltd and its products.

For example, we will use your purchase history to send you personalised offers. We combine the shopping history of many customers to identify trends and ensure we can keep up with demand or develop new products/services. We may use your email address to send you direct marketing information by email, telling you about products and services that we think might interest you, follow up on abandoned carts and request feedback.

We may use your mobile number to send you direct marketing information by SMS, telling you about products and services that interest you, following up on abandoned carts and requesting feedback.

  • When you visit any of our websites and use your account to buy products and services on the phone or online.

  • When you make an online purchase and check out as a guest.

  • When you create an account with us. 

  • When you engage with us on social media. 

  • When you contact us by any means with queries, complaints etc..

  • When you use a tool on our website to request notifications about a product or service.

  • When you choose to enter prize draws or competitions.

  • When you ask a question using live chat.

  • When you choose to complete any surveys, we send them to you.

  • When you review our products and services.

  • When you’ve given a third party permission to share the information they hold about you with us.

What sort of personal data do we collect?

  • If you have a web account with us, your name, billing/delivery address, orders and receipts, email and telephone number. For your security, we’ll also keep an encrypted record of your login password.

  • Details of your interactions with us using email, telephone, live chat or social media.

    For example, we collect notes from our conversations, details of any complaints you make, details of purchases you made, items viewed or added to your basket, brands you show interest in, web pages you visit and how you contacted us.

     

  • Details of your shopping preferences.

  • Details of your visits to our websites or apps and which site you came from to ours.

  • Information gathered by the use of cookies in your web browser.

  • Personal details which help us to recommend items of interest.


For example, if you search for products in a particular colour may use this information to suggest other products in the colour you like.
 

  • Payment card information. Payment information is encrypted and never stored by us.

  • Your comments and product reviews.

  • To deliver the best possible web experience, we collect technical information about your internet connection and browser, the country and telephone code where your computer is located, the web pages viewed during your visit, the advertisements you clicked on, and any search terms you entered.

  • Your social media username, if you interact with us through those channels, to help us respond to your comments, questions or feedback.

We want to give you the best possible customer experience. One way to achieve that is to get the richest picture we can of who you are by combining the data we have about you.

We then use this to offer you promotions, products and services that are most likely to interest you.

The data privacy law allows this as part of our legitimate interest in understanding our customers and providing the highest levels of service.

Remember, if you choose not to share your personal data with us, or refuse specific contact permissions, we might be unable to provide some services you’ve requested.
 

For example, if you’ve asked us to let you know when an item returns to stock, we can’t do that if you’ve withdrawn your general consent to hear from us.

 

11. Here’s how we’ll use your personal data and why:
 

  • To process any orders that you make by using our websites, apps or in store. If we don’t collect your personal data during checkout, we won’t be able to process your order and comply with our legal obligations.
     

For example, your details may need to be passed to a third party to deliver the product that you ordered and we may keep your details for a reasonable period afterwards in order to fulfil any contractual obligations, such as refunds.
 

  • To respond to your queries, refund requests and complaints. Handling the information you sent enables us to respond. We may also keep a record of these to inform any future communication with us and to demonstrate how we communicated with you throughout. We do this on the basis of our contractual obligations to you, our legal obligations and our legitimate interests in providing you with the best service and understanding how we can improve our service based on your experience.

  • To protect our business and your account from fraud and other illegal activities. This includes using your personal data to maintain, update and safeguard your account. We’ll also monitor your browsing activity with us to quickly identify and resolve any problems and protect the integrity of our websites. We’ll do all of this as part of our legitimate interest.
     

For example, by checking your password when you log-in and using automated monitoring of IP addresses to identify possible fraudulent logins from unexpected locations.
 

  • To process payments and to prevent fraudulent transactions. We do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests. This also helps to protect our customers from fraud.

  • If we discover any criminal or alleged criminal activity through fraud monitoring and suspicious transaction monitoring, we will process this data to prevent or detect unlawful acts. We aim to protect the individuals we interact with from criminal activities.

  • With your consent, we will use your data, preferences and details of your transactions to keep you informed by email, SMS, web and social media about relevant products and services, including tailored special offers, discounts, promotions, competitions and so on.

    Of course, you are free to opt out of hearing from us by any of these channels at any time. Just let us know at any time and your information will be deleted as soon as possible.

     

  • To send you communications required by law or which are necessary to inform you about our changes to the services we provide you. For example, updates to this Privacy Notice, product recall notices, and legally required information relating to your orders. These service messages will not include any promotional content and do not require prior consent when sent by email or text message. If we do not use your personal data for these purposes, we would be unable to comply with our legal obligations.

  • To display the most interesting content to you on our websites or apps, we’ll use data we hold about your favourite brands or products and so on. We do so on the basis of your consent to receive app notifications and / or for our website to place cookies or similar technology on your device.

For example, when a court order is submitted to share data with law enforcement agencies or a court of law.
 

  • To send you review requests to help improve our services. These messages will not include any promotional content and do not require prior consent when sent by email. We have a legitimate interest in doing so as this helps make our products or services more relevant to you.

    Of course, you can opt out of receiving these requests from us at any time by emailing us or clicking the unsubscribe link in the communication.

     

  • To build a rich picture of who you are and what you like and to inform our business decisions. We’ll do this based on our legitimate business interest.
     

For example, by combining this data, this will help us personalise your experience and decide which inspiration or content to share with you. We may also use anonymised data from customer purchase histories to identify trends in different areas of the country.

We keep your personal information to enable your continued use of Ecotribo Ltd, for as long as it is required in order to fulfil the relevant purposes described in this Privacy Policy, as may be required by law such as for tax and accounting purposes, or as otherwise communicated to you.
 

For example, we retain your transaction history so that you can review past purchases (and repeat orders if desired) and what addresses you have shipped orders to, and to improve the relevancy of products and content we recommend.

At the end of that retention period, your data will either be deleted completely or anonymised, for example, by aggregation with other data so that it can be used in a non-identifiable way for statistical analysis and business planning.

For example, the company our delivery couriers.

16. What type of information do you collect?

 

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, login, e-mail address, password, computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, and communications), payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profiles.


 

17. How do we collect information?

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us, such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

This information is held on WIX servers, which are secure. Wix has several security measures to protect user data and prevent hacking attempts. The platform uses SSL encryption to secure website data and transactions and regularly updates its security protocols to address potential vulnerabilities. This ensures your website remains safe from hackers.

 

18. Why do we collect such personal information?

We are an ethical company dedicated to people and the planet. Our customers come first and only use the information to provide a better service. We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:
 

  • To provide and operate the Services;

  • To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  • To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalised service-related notices and promotional messages;

  • To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  • To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.
     

 

19. How do you store, use, share and disclose your site visitors' personal information?

 

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. All card information is held on separate servers to ours, and Ecotribo LTD cannot be held liable for any information stored on Wix servers. 


 

20. How do we communicate with our site visitors?

 

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. We may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail for these purposes. If you wish for us to contact you no longer, please let us know in writing to info@ecotribo.com, and your information will be deleted as a priority.

21 - User comments, feedback and other submissions.
 

If, at our request, you send certain specific submissions (for example, contest entries) or without a request from us, you send creative ideas, suggestions, proposals, plans, or other materials, whether online, by email, by postal mail, or otherwise (collectively, 'comments'), you agree that we may, at any time, without restriction, edit, copy, publish, distribute, translate and otherwise use in any medium any comments that you forward to us. We are and shall be under no obligation (1) to maintain any comments in confidence, (2) to pay compensation for any comments, or (3) to respond to any comments.


We may, but have no obligation to, monitor, edit or remove content that we determine in our sole discretion are unlawful, offensive, threatening, libellous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party’s intellectual property or these Terms of Service.


You agree that your comments will not violate any third party's rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, personality or other personal or proprietary right. You further agree that your comments will not contain libellous or otherwise unlawful, abusive or obscene material or contain any computer virus or other malware that could in any way affect the operation of the Service or any related website. You may not use a false e‑mail address, pretend to be someone other than yourself, or otherwise mislead us or third parties as to the origin of any comments. You are solely responsible for any comments you make and their accuracy. We take no responsibility and assume no liability for any comments you or any third party posted.

21. How do we use cookies and other tracking tools?

We are an ethical and sustainable company keen to be as transparent as possible and ensure you have all the information to hand to make the best decisions.
