RECYCLED OCEAN PLASTIC PRODUCTS UK

UK-Made, Sustainable, Design-Led Products Created from Recovered Ocean Waste

Plastic pollution is one of the most urgent environmental challenges facing our coastlines. Across the UK, discarded fishing gear, marine debris and mismanaged plastic waste continue to damage ecosystems and threaten wildlife. At Ecotribo, we transform this problem into possibility.

We design and manufacture recycled ocean plastic products UK businesses and consumers can trust - locally produced, solar-powered and built for long-term durability. By recovering ghost fishing nets and marine plastics from British coastlines and turning them into high-quality retail and B2B products, we are helping power the UK’s circular economy.

If you're looking for a UK supplier of recycled ocean plastic products that combine sustainability, transparency and commercial scalability, you’re in the right place.

What Are Recycled Ocean Plastic Products?

Recycled ocean plastic products are goods manufactured using plastic waste recovered from marine and harbour environments. Ghost Nets specifically are materials recovered from beaches and hard-to-reach coastal areas.

At Ecotribo, we focus mainly on Ghost Nets, as we believe, as a small team, that our focus should be on ensuring this waste is removed from areas where wildlife may be more likely to be harmed. We believe in full transparency across our supply chain and therefore clearly mark where our waste was retrieved.

The broader term of Ocean Plastics can include:

  • Ghost fishing nets

  • Discarded ropes and lines

  • Marine debris

  • Post-consumer coastal plastic waste

These materials are collected, sorted, cleaned, shredded and reprocessed into usable raw material. Instead of ending up in a landfill or continuing to pollute the ocean, they are transformed into new, functional products.

Unlike conventional plastic manufacturing, which relies on virgin fossil-fuel-based polymers, recycled ocean plastic products reduce the need for new plastic production while actively removing harmful waste from coastal ecosystems.

At Ecotribo, we focus on durable polymers such as HDPE and polypropylene recovered from marine environments, ensuring our products meet performance and longevity standards expected by retailers and commercial partners.

Why Recycled Ocean Plastic Products Matter in the UK & The World

The UK generates millions of tonnes of plastic waste annually. While recycling infrastructure exists, a significant proportion of marine plastic originates from fishing activity and coastal waste streams.

Ghost fishing nets alone continue trapping marine life long after they are discarded. Recovering and repurposing these materials offers both environmental and economic opportunity.

Demand for recycled ocean plastic products UK continues to rise due to:

  • Increased retailer ESG requirements

  • Consumer demand for sustainable alternatives

  • Pressure to reduce Scope 3 emissions

  • The growth of circular economy procurement policies

  • Corporate sustainability reporting standards

UK brands are actively seeking reliable domestic suppliers who can provide traceable recycled materials. By manufacturing locally in Bristol and Devon, Ecotribo reduces transport emissions while strengthening supply chain resilience.

Sustainability is no longer a niche differentiator. It is a competitive advantage.

Our Process: From Shore to Shelf

1. Coastal Collection Partnerships

We collaborate with clean-up crews and coastal initiatives across the South West and UK coastline. Materials are carefully gathered to ensure minimal additional environmental disruption.

2. Sorting & Polymer Identification

Ocean plastic is complex. Different polymer types must be separated to maintain material quality. We invest time in careful identification and processing to ensure consistency in our recycled material output.
We use digital scanners to ensure that we separate and process all our ocean plastics correctly and efficiently. This often means hand sorting to prevent contamination of polymers and ultimately ensures a strong, robust and fully circular material.

3. Cleaning & Shredding

Recovered plastics are cleaned to remove salt, sand and contaminants before being shredded into manageable injectable flakes.

4. Solar-Powered Processing

Both our Bristol and Devon facilities operate using solar energy, reducing the carbon footprint of our recycled ocean plastic product manufacturing.

The material is scanned, filtered, melted, and reformed into usable feedstock suitable for moulding. pressing.

5. Moulding & Manufacturing

We transform recycled ocean plastic and ghost gear plastic into durable retail and B2B products using carefully controlled moulding processes.

6. Quality Control & Finishing

Each product is inspected to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic consistency, proving that recycled materials can meet premium retail standards. We have sold our products in some of the UK's most esteemed retail shops, including John Lewis and more.
